LOVNIS < Brazil / Berlin >
LOVNIS, a Brazilian band now based in Berlin, merges Tropicalia, garage punk, and 60s pop. Founded by Murilo Sá and Amanda Longo, and later joined by drummer Putti, their sound draws from Brazilian psych-rock and Tropicália, with influences from The Kinks and Os Mutantes. Their music features rich arrangements, gritty guitar riffs, and catchy melodies, creating a distinctive and captivating sound. Since moving to Berlin, LOVNIS has performed at major venues such as SO36, Lido, Berghain Kantine, and Schokoladen. They have supported international bands like The Courettes, The Shivas and the Latin Grammy nominated Ana Frango Elétrico. Their energetic shows and DIY approach to music production have earned them a dedicated following. Their debut single was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine in Brazil, showcasing their early impact.
LOVNIS’s live performances are engaging and high-energy. Their setlist includes six released singles and new material, blending garage punk’s raw energy, Tropicalia’s experimental vibe, and the melodies of 60s pop. This combination makes their live shows unique and memorable.
In last August, LOVNIS released “Running out of Luck”, their first single in English. This track, influenced by English proto-punk, marks a new direction for the band. LOVNIS continues to push musical boundaries and connect with new audiences, aiming to make a significant impact on the international music scene.
Neon Apples < Berlin >
Neon Apples from Berlin will make you dance, revolt, heal and love with their infectious songs of psych beat. Noisy analogue synths meet with flowy patterns of drums and baselines, sampled beats and darkly poetic vocal harmonies. Searching for something true in the basements of Forster Straße, they’re seeing in their crystal ball that ‘Future’s Coming’ and ‘we shall flee this city, flee the species forever’. But not being fooled by ideology (‘Illusion’), Neon Apples will stay in their turf and continue because ‘it’s never been as easy to fall in love’. While the name is reminding of late 60s synth pioneers Silver Apples, influence-wise the band can also agree on BEAK>, Peaches, Tame Impala and Chemical Brothers. Each song a new deep soundscape to explore, they‘re pushing the envelope to create an organic amalgam of synth-punk, drum ‘n’ bass, funk, trip-hop, neo-soul, art-pop and psychedelia.
